Thailand Zika Dashboard

This showcase presents an interactive dashboard built on Thailand's weekly Zika virus surveillance data, compiled from the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, and published through the GFID platform.

Zika is a mosquito-borne viral disease spread by Aedes mosquitoes. Infections are often mild, but the virus poses a serious risk in pregnancy because it can cause birth defects such as microcephaly. Cases in Thailand are typically sporadic and low in number, which makes consistent surveillance important for detecting clusters early and protecting vulnerable groups. The dashboard consolidates years of case reports so users can see when and where cases appear. Use the filters (Year, Week, Province) to explore the data, and review:

  • Total patients and average cases per year
  • Count by Week — timing of reported cases through the year
  • Share by Year and Count by Year — year-on-year trends and any clusters
  • Top provinces — areas with the highest reported cases
  • Average by Week — the typical weekly pattern

All figures are aggregated from the underlying surveillance dataset; the raw records remain access-controlled while these summary statistics are shared for public insight. Data updates automatically when the source resource is refreshed.
